The history of the chocolate I have selected.
My Cadbury Product
What product have you chosen and why?
The product I chose is Cadbury's dairy milk. I chose this because it is a good simple chocolate to talk about.
When did Cadbury first launch the product?
Cadbury first launched dairy milk chocolate in the year 1905.
Who do you think is the audience for the product, when it launched and is it the same now?
For this product I think the audience is around the age range of 8+ (8-50+). This product was launched in the year 1905. Dairy milk chocolate is not the same now they have an even smaller bar called Cadbury dairy milk little bar and the normal bar which has sections to it and then they have the really big bar that has 3/4 pieces per row, however they all taste the same they just have different forms.
Describe the packaging.
The packaging of dairy milk chocolate is a purple wrapper that has a normal simple font and white writing that says dairy milk and the Cadbury logo on the packaging in gold in almost like a fancy cursive font.
Find and embed an old campaign ad for the product and analyse it.
Cadburys Dairy Milk A Glass And A Half Advert UK 1980s - YouTube - old advert for dairy milk.
At the start of the advert, it shows the chocolate on a mould tray like a factory manufacture. It then shows blocks/ pieces of the chocolate as a close up zoom and goes to the top of one block to show the logo on the chocolate. It then switches from that shot to 2 glasses full of milk being poured out with a purple background to symbolise the colour of their packaging. There is a whirlpool of the chocolate spinning around and it's edited to show the chocolate being formed into the dairy milk chocolate bar. It then shows a slight montage where the chocolate is in the moulding tray and when it's as a bar in the packaging and 3 people taking a bock/piece of chocolate at the end of that montage. The video then shows a lady biting a piece of the chocolate and shows a huge piece of the chocolate with their slogan in front of it saying 'The chocolate. And a half ' which is their old slogan, with the mould tray filled with chocolate in the back.
